Time Out’s 100 Best British Films (2017)

In 2017 Time Out polled 150 actors, directors, writers, producers and critics to find the best 100 British films ever. There’s a few surprise here, including the inclusion of 2001: A Space Odyssey (placed 57th), which was made by American director Kubrick with American money but shot in Britain. The list also includes a number of relatively obscure TV plays, while David Lean’s The Bridge on the River Kwai is placed only 86th!
